When I first fell in love with cooking, I fell in love with cookbooks, and soon decided I wanted to write them myself. I self-published my first cookbook, a modest paperback collection of my early recipes called "Vegetarian Foodscape", with the support of Christiane Kubrick, wife of the film director, in whose kitchen I first learned to cook. This accomplishment landed me my first international publishing deal with "New Vegetarian" which went on to sell over 100,000 copies.
I have published a total of seven books worldwide, translated into nine different languages. The whole process gives me huge satisfaction: research, creating and perfecting the recipes, writing, and food styling for photography.
I love the immortality of books, but I am a food journalist as well. I currently write a column for The Times (London) online called "Urban Farmer", and a column for BBC Good Food Magazine called "Grow to Eat". I've also contributed to numerous other publications. I am a member of The Guild of Food Writers and The Society of Authors. My agent is Martine Carter at Sauce Communications.
